Education

Graduated from USU with B.A. in French in 2010. Currently attending Paul Mitchell the School Logan as I pursue my cosmetology instructor's license. Graduated from Logan High School in 2004. I have taken French business, conversational, cultural, literature, and writing classes while pursuing this major.

Experience

Study abroad in Paris and Annecy, France 2009. Studied French from 1998-2010 in educational settings. This has greatly influenced my French accent for the better and would love to help your student learn to speak French without an American accent. I wanted to pursue my teaching certificate and teach French to others but events happened in my life that prevented me from pursuing my certification. Despite living in Smithfield, my children attend the French DLI program in Providence and we practice at home daily. I want to tutor in part because I love teaching and in part because I believe that the world grows smaller as we learn, embrace, and eventually love other languages and cultures. I have also studied Spanish and Arabic and have found this to be a way to appreciate and relate to my fellow man across the globe. I believe that education and love is our best bet in creating a peaceful world for our children to grow up in. I want to help others love the French language as much as I love it.

Hobbies

I have 4 children ages 1-7 years. We have a love of languages in our home as we speak English, French, Spanish, Arabic, and Tagalog between my husband and myself. As I pursue my cosmetology instructor's license I am also working as a substitute teacher for Cache County and Logan School Districts. I am interested in teaching the beginning learner and reinforcing proper pronunciation and instilling confidence in your student as to their ability to speak French on a conversational level as well as a general understanding of French culture. I firmly believe that teaching should be adjusted for the student and not the student adjusting for the teacher. Therefore, I practice my ability to teach to a range of learning styles. I am willing to travel at no additional charge so long as it is within Cache County or Logan City School District boundaries. Traveling outside of this range is still at option at an additional charge.
